As a licensed Body Mapping Educator, I have discovered a way to move with more expression and ease. Playing and teaching is a real joy and I can hear and feel that connection between motion and emotion of music—in both my students and myself.
I believe it is so important to teach movement based on sound biomechanical principles. Playing-related pain and injury is an epidemic among musicians. It is time to address this in our pedagogy by teaching movement based on the body’s anatomical design. I am delighted to bring my experience and knowledge to musicians in Western Canada.
I am an active teacher, adjudicator, and examiner with the Royal Conservatory of Music and Music Achievement Program in Canada and the United States. I perform both as a solo and collaborative pianist with a wide variety of instrumentalists, vocalists, and choirs.
As founding Artistic Director for a highly successful classical concert series I have a passion for making music a vital part of community life.
